Chuseok Warmth Delivered Ahead of LetsRun Park Yeongcheon's Opening on the 11th

LetsRun Park Yeongcheon, also known as Yeongcheon Racecourse Park, said it held a Chuseok community outreach event on the 4th ahead of the holiday. Staff visited senior centers in Geumho-eup and Cheongtong-myeon, Yeongcheon-si, North Gyeongsang Province, near the racecourse, to check on the health and well-being of elderly residents and deliver holiday gifts.
KRA employees visited seven senior centers near the racecourse and delivered carefully prepared Chuseok gift packages to 390 residents.
Earlier, during preparations for a live mock race in July, KRA donated 37 Hyojabal silver walkers to help elderly residents from nearby vulnerable groups travel safely. During this summer's record-breaking heat wave, it also organized a community gathering featuring samgyetang and seasonal fruit.
Since February, KRA has worked with Yeongcheon-si and local civic groups through a consultative body to identify and address local issues through a problem-solving initiative. To tackle Yeongcheon-si's high aging rate and gaps in welfare services, KRA is using designated donations this year to carry out six key projects.
The projects include creating jobs for seniors through a resource-circulation platform, supporting 40 households with disabled members that are vulnerable to energy poverty, and preventing lonely deaths by providing free meals and delivering meal kits to elderly people from vulnerable groups. The initiative is being carried out through a model in which civil society proposes ideas, local governments provide administrative support, and KRA contributes funding and infrastructure.
A KRA official emphasized, "We will work to ensure that LetsRun Park Yeongcheon, which opens its doors on the 11th, becomes more than a venue for horse racing. We want it to become a landmark of social contribution that first embraces neighbors in need and serves as a source of civic pride."
