NAND Market Grows 70% in Second Quarter as Samsung and SK hynix Rank First and Second

[Financial News] Samsung Electronics and SK hynix retained the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively, in the global NAND flash market by revenue in the second quarter. With NAND flash prices rising sharply, total market revenue increased 70% from the previous quarter. According to Counterpoint Research on the 4th, global NAND flash market revenue rose 70% quarter on quarter in the second quarter.
This was driven by a 55% quarter-on-quarter increase in average NAND prices during the second quarter alone. Market revenue had already risen 90% in the first quarter, marking two consecutive quarters of rapid growth. 
Samsung Electronics remained the market leader with a 28% share by revenue. However, its share fell by 1 percentage point from 29% in the first quarter. SK hynix ranked second with a 19% share, up 1 percentage point from the previous quarter.
Micron Technology also made notable gains. Focusing on sales of high-value products, Micron Technology increased its market share from 13% in the first quarter to 15%, moving into third place.
KIOXIA and Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) ranked fourth, each maintaining the same 14% market share as in the previous quarter.
SanDisk ranked fifth, with its market share falling 2 percentage points from the previous quarter to 11%.
