[Financial News] Auto parts platform PARTZONE is accelerating the digitalization of the automotive aftermarket by integrating its used-parts service into a single platform. Beyond simply selling parts, the company uses its proprietary parts-identification data and artificial intelligence (AI) to find compatible parts for each vehicle.
According to PARTZONE on the 4th, the company integrated its used-parts service, PARTZONE Green, into the existing PARTZONE app. Users can now search for and purchase everything from new consumables to used interior and exterior vehicle parts in one place.
PARTZONE’s competitive edge lies in its proprietary GPID (Global Parts Identification Data). The system identifies vehicle information based on a vehicle registration number or vehicle identification number (VIN), then links compatible products from a database containing hundreds of thousands of parts. Related patented technologies and AI recommendation algorithms have also been applied.
With this integration, data-driven parts matching, which had previously focused on new parts, has expanded to include used parts. The strategy is to use data to simplify one of the main difficulties consumers face in the automotive aftermarket: determining whether a part is compatible with their vehicle. Another feature is the company’s potential to target not only individual drivers but also the business-to-business (B2B) market, including auto repair shops and service centers. Expanding the distribution of used parts is also expected to promote resource circulation by increasing the reuse of parts that might otherwise be discarded. PARTZONE plans to reduce vehicle maintenance costs and revitalize the used-parts market by allowing users to compare and choose new and reused parts at the same time.
Payment and search functions have also been upgraded. The company introduced its proprietary payment service, PARTZONE Pay, and redesigned the used-parts diagram search interface. In the second half of the year, it plans to gradually add an AI-based customer consultation system and a feature that will allow users to search for and purchase parts without registering a vehicle registration number.
A PARTZONE official explained, "We are upgrading our service based on our proprietary GPID data, patented technologies and AI so that even users who are unfamiliar with automobiles can accurately find the parts they need." The official added, "By expanding the reuse of used parts, we will help reduce vehicle maintenance costs and promote resource circulation in the automotive industry."
An industry official noted, "One of the obstacles to expanding online distribution has been that consumers find it difficult to determine compatibility for each vehicle in the used auto parts market." The official added, "The more precisely vehicle and parts data are connected, the more we can lower the barriers to entering used-parts transactions and accelerate the aftermarket’s shift online."
