Korea Transportation Safety Authority to Showcase Key Eco-Friendly Safety and Certification Technologies at Future Industry Expo

[Financial News] Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS) will showcase eco-friendly vehicle safety-management technologies, a key component of the future mobility industry.
According to TS on the 4th, the Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute (KATRI), an institute of TS, is participating in the 2026 Jeonnam-Gwangju Future Industry Expo, which is being held from the 2nd through the 5th at the Kim Daejung Convention Center in Jeonnam-Gwangju.
The expo is the largest event of its kind in the Honam region, with 300 domestic companies participating and showcasing cutting-edge technologies representing future industries, including mobility, robotics, and drones.
At the expo, TS plans to introduce its research capabilities and infrastructure for creating a safe vehicle operating environment and ensuring vehicle safety.
In particular, TS will highlight the Gwangju Eco-Friendly Vehicle Certification Center’s vehicle certification and testing infrastructure, as well as the eco-friendly vehicle safety assessment system and the safety certification system for key components such as batteries. The Gwangju center is one of the facilities equipped with testing equipment, including battery and crash-assessment systems.
Following the launch of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City, a consultation desk will also be operated to support the competitiveness and technological innovation of local auto-parts companies. TS plans to listen to the concerns of local small and medium-sized enterprises, identify their support needs, and provide assistance tailored to those needs.
