Coupang Logistics Services Supports Eumseong Hyangaewon with Home Appliances and Furniture

[Financial News] Coupang Logistics Services (CLS) visited a child-care facility in Eumseong, Chungcheongbuk-do, donated home appliances and furniture, and carried out volunteer work to improve the living environment.
According to industry sources on the 4th, CLS donated home appliances and furniture to Eumseong Hyangaewon, a child-care facility in Eumseong County, Chungcheongbuk-do, and improved the facility's surroundings. On the 26th of last month, about 20 employees, including CLS CEO Hong Yong-joon, visited the facility in person and took part in volunteer work, such as planting flowers at the dining hall entrance and painting various areas of the facility.
Eumseong Hyangaewon is a child-care facility established in 1952. For more than 70 years, it has served as a living space for children in need of protection. A total of 34 people currently live there, ranging from infants and toddlers to elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as children whose protection period has been extended.
Since July, CLS has held preliminary consultations with Eumseong Hyangaewon and toured the facility in person to identify the items it needed. It prioritized home appliances and furniture that required replacement or reinforcement, focusing on spaces closely connected to the children's daily lives, including meals, sleep, study, and rest.
The dining hall, where the children eat together, was one of the areas that underwent the biggest changes. CLS provided tables and chairs with a total capacity of 80 seats, including eight sets of six-person tables and chairs and eight sets of four-person tables and chairs.
The children's sleeping and study areas were also improved. CLS provided six bunk beds, six desks, six student chairs, and five desktop computers. Four lounge chairs and one smart TV were installed in common areas. The company also delivered one wall-mounted heating and cooling unit, two standing heating and cooling units, and three cordless vacuum cleaners, along with other household appliances.
Coupang's Rocket Installation service was used for the delivery and installation of the major appliances and furniture. Professional technicians installed the smart TV, beds, dining tables and chairs, and heating and cooling units, reducing the facility's operational burden. Rocket Installation is a service through which professional technicians deliver and install products that require installation.
CLS employees also took part directly in improving the facility's surroundings. They maintained the flower bed at the dining hall entrance and painted aging areas throughout the facility. Employees based in Seoul also traveled to Eumseong, Chungcheongbuk-do, to participate in the volunteer work.
An official from Eumseong Hyangaewon said, "The local community's interest and volunteer work have continued steadily, but it is uncommon for a large number of employees to come all the way from Seoul to provide supplies and volunteer their time together. We felt the sincerity behind the support rather than a merely formal gesture because we discussed the items needed in advance, toured the facility in person, and then decided what to provide."
A CLS official said, "We are continuing to provide customized support that reflects the voices of people at the site. By leveraging CLS's logistics infrastructure and Rocket Installation capabilities, we will continue expanding our social contribution activities to help improve the living conditions of neighbors in need."
