Landslide Hits Mogok-ri, Seo-myeon, Hongcheon County, Gangwon State; 16 Residents Evacuated, No Casualties

【Financial News Hongcheon = Kim Ki-seop】A landslide occurred in the Mogok-ri area of Seo-myeon, Hongcheon County, on the morning of the fourth, prompting nearby residents to evacuate.
According to Gangwon Fire Headquarters on the fourth, a report was received at 7:49 a.m. that a landslide had occurred and the sound of falling rocks had been heard. Fire authorities arrived at the scene at 8:07 a.m., assessed whether there were any casualties, and began evacuating residents.
All 16 nearby residents from six households had completed their evacuation by 9:04 a.m. No casualties have been confirmed so far. Authorities deployed 10 pieces of equipment and 22 personnel from the fire service, police, the county office and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) to manage the site and implement safety measures against further collapses and falling rocks.
