[Financial News] Daesang Group held the blood donation campaign “2026 Daesang Red Challenge” and delivered its products to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation for children with pediatric cancer.
According to industry sources on the 4th, Daesang Group donated 333 blood donation certificates collected through the “2026 Daesang Red Challenge,” along with 1,000 “Respect Boxes” for children with pediatric cancer, at a ceremony held on the 3rd at the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.
The donated items were prepared through a blood donation campaign conducted by Daesang Group in cooperation with the Blood Services Headquarters, Korean Red Cross. Launched in 2006 and now in its 20th year, the 2026 Daesang Red Challenge was designed to prepare for the summer season, when blood supplies become more difficult to secure. Since 2020, the campaign has been open to members of the general public as well.
This year, Daesang Group prepared a variety of programs that allowed not only blood donors but also non-donors and employees at regional business sites to participate. It introduced new programs to make Hickman pouches for children with pediatric cancer and write respect letters. The company also introduced a matching-grant program under which it donates Respect Boxes filled with Daesang products in proportion to the number of participants.
The Respect Boxes contained Daesang’s representative products, including Chung Jung One’s Woorifarm Ai Sarang, Anchovy Cup Rice Noodles, and Chungjungone Pure Rice Nurungji, as well as Jongga Mat Kimchi and Stir-fried Kimchi, so that children with pediatric cancer and their families could easily prepare meals.
Kim Kyung-sook, head of Daesang’s ESG management division, said, “It is meaningful that, through this campaign, which has continued for the past 20 years with the participation of Daesang employees and members of the general public, we are once again able to deliver blood donation certificates to places where they are needed.” She added, “We will continue to encourage more people to participate in the campaign through various programs and practice broader forms of sharing.”
