[Financial News] Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that Israel would strike key infrastructure, including energy facilities, if Iran attacks Israel.
At a Rosh Hashanah event on the 3rd (local time), Israel Katz said, "There are signs that the serious economic pressure facing Iran, along with fears of a popular uprising and the collapse of the regime, could drive it to take extreme measures."
He warned, "If Iran attacks Israel, we will be free of all constraints," adding, "We will strike all infrastructure, including energy infrastructure, and return Iran to the dark ages of the Stone Age."
He also emphasized that Israel is prepared for every possibility, maintaining readiness for both defensive and offensive operations, and is ready to complete its mission.
Israel Katz also said the previous day that Israel was preparing for the possibility of an Iranian attack. He said Israel would respond independently without relying on anyone if Iran attacked, adding that Israeli fighter jets were ready to take off at any moment.
Israel began the war alongside the United States last February, saying it would overthrow the Iranian regime and destroy its ballistic missile and nuclear programs. The United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to end the war last June, but the agreement collapsed over disagreements regarding control of the Strait of Hormuz. While the United States and Iran subsequently engaged in sporadic armed clashes, Israel did not intervene at the urging of the United States.
