The number of listed companies that have disclosed value-up plans has risen to 756, and their combined market capitalization accounts for more than 83% of the overall stock market.
According to the Monthly Corporate Value Enhancement Status (August 2026) released by Korea Exchange (KRX) on the 3rd, nine companies, including Kakao and Daewon Kang Up, newly disclosed corporate value-enhancement plans last month.
As a result, the cumulative number of companies that have disclosed such plans since the value-up disclosure system was introduced in May 2024 rose to 756. By market, 354 are listed on the KOSPI Composite Index and 402 on KOSDAQ.
As more companies disclose value-up plans, their influence on the stock market is also growing. As of the end of August, the combined market capitalization of companies with value-up disclosures stood at 5,074 trillion won, representing 83.4% of the total market capitalization of the KOSPI Composite Index and KOSDAQ. On the KOSPI Composite Index in particular, these companies accounted for 87.7% of total market capitalization.
The Korea Value-Up Index stood at 3,240.84 points at the end of August, up 80.3% from 1,797.52 points at the end of last year. This was 18.5 percentage points higher than the KOSPI Composite Index's 61.8% gain over the same period. The total net assets of 13 value-up-related ETFs also reached 3.5 trillion won, an increase of more than 600% from their initial listing.
KRX will provide on-site support to further expand participation among companies in the value-up program. Beginning in Seoul on the 11th, it plans to hold outreach briefings for corporate value enhancement in six cities nationwide, including Daegu, Busan, Pangyo, Daejeon, and Gwangju.
A KRX official said, "Through small-group roundtables and other programs, we will actively support high-dividend, low-price-to-book-ratio, and special-listing companies so that they can understand tax and regulatory improvements in advance and systematically prepare their value-up disclosures."
