"70 Years Together with the Residents" Gangwon State Council Holds Ceremony Marking 70th Anniversary

According to the Gangwon State Council on the 3rd, a ceremony marking its 70th anniversary was held that day with about 150 people in attendance, including former provincial council members, governors, superintendents of education and other officials. The event was organized to look back on the council's 70-year legislative history, commemorate its journey built together with the residents of Gangwon State, and reaffirm its role and commitment in creating a new future for the state.
In particular, former provincial council members attended the ceremony to reflect on the significance of their legislative work dedicated to the council's development and the lives of Gangwon State residents. They also joined across generations in envisioning the council's future. Kim Si-seong, former chair of the 11th Council, delivered an invited speech, sharing his experience and wisdom from past council activities and exploring a vision for the council's next leap forward.
Park Gil-seon, chair of the Gangwon State Council, said, "The Gangwon State Council of today exists because of the dedication of senior members who stood by the residents for 70 years." He added, "Building on that history and spirit, we will listen more closely to the voices of residents and create a council that serves as a source of strength." He emphasized, "The 70th anniversary is not merely a celebration of the time that has passed; it is a starting point for preparing for the next 70 years." He continued, "The 12th Gangwon State Council will pursue council work based on communication and cooperation so that it can open the future of Gangwon State together with its residents."
