Daewoong Pharmaceutical Strengthens Cooperation with Indonesia’s Drug Regulatory Authority

[Financial News] Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced on the 3rd that a BPOM delegation responsible for pharmaceuticals had visited its Magok Research Center in Seoul.
The visit took place in connection with the delegation’s attendance at the Global Bio Conference (GBC 2026) and a meeting of the Asia-Pacific Network of National Regulatory Testing Institutions.
On the 28th of last month, the BPOM delegation visited Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s Magok Research Center to review the company’s research and development activities and infrastructure for new drugs and biopharmaceuticals. The two sides also discussed ways to cooperate on regulatory procedures in Indonesia, including product development and approvals, as well as clinical development.
For more than 20 years, Daewoong Pharmaceutical has regarded Indonesia as a key business hub and pursued local production, research and development, and talent development there.
Rita Endang, a senior expert adviser for pharmaceuticals at BPOM, said, "We confirmed Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s research and development capabilities in new drugs and biopharmaceuticals." She added, "We will continue constructive regulatory communication with pharmaceutical companies that invest and conduct research and development in Indonesia."
Lee So-yoon, head of Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s Regulatory Affairs and Patent Center, said, "We will work closely with regulatory authorities worldwide, including those in Indonesia, to pursue new drug development and expand our local business."
