Ulsan Residents to Gain Easier Access to National Assembly Library... National Assembly Legislative Information Center to Be Established at Ulsan Library

【Financial News Ulsan = Choi Soo-sang】 Residents of Ulsan are expected to gain easier access to specialized materials on major policies and legislation provided by the National Assembly Library of the Republic of Korea.
Ulsan Metropolitan City and the National Assembly Library of the Republic of Korea signed an agreement at Ulsan City Hall on the 3rd to establish a National Assembly Legislative Information Center at Ulsan Library and provide publications, with the aim of jointly utilizing legislative information from the National Assembly Library.
The ceremony was attended by Kim Sang-wook, mayor of Ulsan; Shin Min-sik, deputy mayor for economic affairs; Jeon Gyeong-sul, director of the Culture, Tourism and Sports Bureau; Choi Young-man, director of Ulsan Library; Hwang Jeong-geun, director of the National Assembly Library; Park Mi-hyang, director of the Legislative Information Office; Cha Mun-jin, director of the Political and Administrative Information Division; and other officials from both sides.
The National Assembly Legislative Information Center will be established this month in the Digital Materials Room on the first floor of Ulsan Library. Visitors will be able to regularly access specialized materials on major policies and legislation provided by the National Assembly Library.
A dedicated computer will also be installed to provide access to various National Assembly Library systems. Through it, users will be able to access online services such as the National Assembly Library’s Digital Library, the Local Council Legislative Information Portal, and the National Strategy Portal. The center will also provide the latest knowledge and information materials, including this week’s reports and reviews of new books.
The two institutions also plan to develop collaborative models, including librarian training, and continuously expand information exchange and cooperation.
Ulsan Library expects this initiative to further strengthen its collection resources.
The National Assembly Library’s plan to establish legislative information centers at local libraries began last June with Halla Library in Jeju. This year, following Ulsan, the library plans to continue related agreements with Daejeon Library and Chuncheon.
