President Lee Jae Myung: "One Month Until Public Prosecution Office and Serious Crime Investigation Agency Open; Do Your Utmost to Prevent Any Gap"

[Financial News] With one month remaining until the Public Prosecution Office and the Serious Crime Investigation Agency open, President Lee Jae Myung instructed officials on the 3rd to "thoroughly overhaul the relevant systems so that not even the slightest gap occurs in protecting the lives, safety, and rights of the people."
President Lee Jae Myung chaired the 45th Senior Presidential Aides Meeting at Cheong Wa Dae that day and said, "There is now exactly one month left until the Public Prosecution Office and the Serious Crime Investigation Agency open," before issuing the instruction.
President Lee Jae Myung emphasized, "The goal of all reform is to bring about tangible improvements in people’s lives. In other words, it is reform for people’s livelihoods. Reform is not completed or evaluated through words in a law book; it is completed and evaluated in the daily lives of our people." He continued, "During the remaining period, we must do our utmost to thoroughly overhaul the relevant systems and fully implement the necessary measures so that not even the slightest gap occurs in protecting the lives, safety, and rights of the people."
He added, "All relevant agencies must join forces to establish a public security system that people can trust and rely on."
Regarding a series of recent public security-related incidents, he instructed officials to reexamine the National Police Agency’s overall system. President Lee Jae Myung pointed out, "There must not be even the slightest lapse in protecting the safety of the people," adding, "The incidents that have occurred one after another recently reveal that there are significant weaknesses in our public security system."
He further urged, "The National Police Agency must use these incidents as a mirror and undertake internal reform and institutional improvements with a determination to make painful changes." He added, "Not only in missing-person cases, but throughout the handling of all cases, the agency must comprehensively reexamine whether anything is wrong with existing practices and systems."
President Lee Jae Myung added, "We must move beyond the perspective of insiders and carefully examine what was lacking and what needs to be improved from the standpoint of the people, the perspective of victims, and the viewpoint of objective observers." He continued, "All relevant agencies must join forces to establish a public security system that people can trust and rely on."
