Jeonbuk State Strengthens Labor-Management Cooperation; Holds Labor-Management-Civil Society-Government Council Meeting

【Financial News Jeonju = Reporter Kang In】 Jeonbuk State held a plenary meeting of the Labor-Management-Civil Society-Government Council at the provincial government complex on the 3rd, chaired by Lee Won-taek, Governor of Jeonbuk State, with representatives from labor, management, civil society, and the government in attendance.
The Labor-Management-Civil Society-Government Council is a social dialogue body in which labor, management, civil society, and government representatives participate to discuss regional labor issues and ways to promote mutual growth. Since its establishment in 2001, it has pursued cooperative projects aimed at stabilizing regional labor-management relations, establishing industrial peace, and promoting employment and industrial safety.
The meeting began with provincial governor’s commendations for individuals who contributed to labor-management cooperation and regional community development. Participants then shared the results of last year’s projects and the progress of this year’s support programs, while deliberating on key agenda items related to regional labor-management cooperation and resolving workplace labor issues.
The main agenda items included relaunching the Jeonbuk State Industrial Peace Award, identifying joint agendas and pursuing joint projects between metropolitan and basic local governments under the Labor-Management-Civil Society-Government Council in 2027, and promoting the use of the Dispute Mediation Committee and on-site publicity projects.
The Jeonbuk State Industrial Peace Award is a program that identifies and honors individuals and others who have contributed to establishing industrial peace through labor-management coexistence and cooperation. At the meeting, participants discussed ways to spread a culture of labor-management cooperation by relaunching the award.
The participants agreed that labor, management, civil society, and government should continue carrying out their respective roles, based on a joint declaration, so that basic labor standards can take root in workplaces.
Lee Won-taek, Governor of Jeonbuk State, said, "This plenary meeting is an opportunity for regional labor, management, civil society, and government representatives to discuss current issues together and seek cooperative measures that can be implemented in the field." He added, "We will continue to further strengthen the Jeonbuk-style social dialogue system so that we can build a community where labor and management prosper together and labor is respected."
