[Financial News] Smilegate will officially launch its new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), 'Eclipse: The Awakening,' on the 10th. The company plans to encourage user engagement by reducing the burden of logging in and competing while preserving the growth and combat experiences central to MMORPGs.
According to industry sources on the 3rd, Eclipse closed its character pre-creation event early after opening it to all 24 servers in August. The game will officially launch at noon on the 10th.
Users who participated in character pre-creation will be able to start playing immediately when the official service begins. The game supports cross-platform play between PC and mobile devices, and allows up to two clients to run simultaneously.
Ahead of the official launch, a live broadcast will be held on the official YouTube channel at 8 p.m. on the 5th.
Hosted by announcer Park Ga-young, the broadcast will feature Lee Sang-moon, the producer overseeing Eclipse's development, and a special guest. They will unveil a new trailer for the first time and introduce major content and launch events. The team will also share its future update roadmap and communicate with users through a live question-and-answer session.
Eclipse provides summoning tickets and growth resources over time through its core content, 'Sanctum.' Its 'AI mode' also supports character growth while players are offline.
Shin Jae-ik, an executive at Smilegate, said, "With one week remaining until the official launch, we will do our utmost to improve the service's quality through the final stages so that we can deliver Eclipse, which you have been looking forward to."
