[Financial News] SYSTEM PARIS, a brand owned by fashion company Handsome of Hyundai Department Store Group, is expanding its global retail network by opening a pop-up store at Harrods in London, the world’s No. 1 department store by global sales.
According to Handsome on the 3rd, SYSTEM PARIS will operate the pop-up store from the 7th through November, local time, in the contemporary section of the men’s department on the second floor.
The pop-up came about after Harrods proposed the project. Several SYSTEM PARIS items, including coats and trousers from last fall and winter’s season, sold out at Harrods’ own edit shop, leading to the pop-up’s launch.
SYSTEM PARIS was launched after Handsome separated the Paris collections of its flagship brands SYSTEM and SYSTEM HOMME. After opening a permanent store at Galeries Lafayette in France early this year, the brand has continued expanding its global retail network. SYSTEM’s wholesale order value has also increased by more than 30% annually. The Galeries Lafayette store ranked among the top three brands by sales in the department store’s contemporary fashion category.
Handsome plans to raise SYSTEM PARIS’s global profile through marketing that incorporates Korean elements during the pop-up period. Harrods is the world’s top department store by sales from a single location and attracts attention from the global fashion industry. As the pop-up is scheduled to run during London Fashion Week in mid-month, it is expected to create more opportunities to connect with local industry officials.
Lee Jung-hyup, head of Handsome’s Global Business Strategy Team, said, "We will continue expanding our global retail network by building on Handsome’s distinctive designs and high level of craftsmanship."
