Iran Attacks U.S. Military Base in Kuwait, Saying It Is Responding to 'U.S. Crimes Against the Iranian People'

[Financial News] As military clashes between the United States and Iran have intensified again over control of the Strait of Hormuz, Iran attacked a U.S. military base in Kuwait, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported on the 3rd local time.
The Kuwaiti military said on X, formerly Twitter, that "Kuwait's air defenses are currently responding to hostile missile and drone attacks resulting from the heinous Iranian invasion."
Citing Iranian state television, AFP reported that Iran had designated a U.S. military base in Kuwait as a target.
Iranian state television claimed that the purpose of the attack was "a response to U.S. crimes against the Iranian people."
The month-long lull was broken after the United States recently struck Larak Island. Iran subsequently resumed retaliatory attacks across the Gulf region, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
The United States and Iran are once again clashing militarily over passage rights through the Strait of Hormuz, repeating a cycle of attacks and retaliation. On the 30th of last month, the U.S. military struck two Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) rocket launchers used to deploy mines near Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran responded by firing missiles at two U.S. military air bases in Jordan.
The United States also launched attacks targeting the IRGC on the 1st. It was reportedly following a new strategy approved by President Donald Trump, described as "tanker-for-tanker," and also attacked two tankers owned by the Iranian government.
The IRGC immediately issued a statement saying it had shot down a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone. It also said that it had attacked a U.S. military base in Jordan with ballistic missiles and struck U.S. forces stationed in Erbil, in Iraq's Kurdistan Region.
The Iranian military also attacked U.S. military bases in Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait. In a statement, it said, "Dozens of attack drones struck U.S. radar systems and positions at Al Dhafra Air Base and Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE." It added, "U.S. radar facilities and troop assembly areas at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain were also designated as targets."
Iran also said that a bomb had struck a civilian home where a wedding was taking place during the U.S. airstrikes on the 1st, causing mass civilian casualties. It described the incident as a war crime and warned that it would respond forcefully under its new strategy.
