Woongjin ThinkBig to Train ‘Practical AI Manufacturing Talent’ with Chosun College of Science & Technology

[Financial News] Woongjin ThinkBig is joining forces with Chosun College of Science & Technology to train practical talent who will lead the digital transformation (DX) of regional manufacturing and to create jobs for young people.
Woongjin ThinkBig announced on the 3rd that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chosun College of Science & Technology to carry out the ‘2026 Advanced Industry Talent Development Boot Camp (AI)’ program. Under the agreement, the two institutions will jointly develop and operate an ‘AI-plus-manufacturing convergence curriculum’ for five years through 2031. They will provide one-stop support throughout the entire process, from recruiting trainees and managing learning to arranging internships and connecting participants with jobs.
The two sides will focus on narrowing the gap between university education and industrial workplaces. Woongjin ThinkBig will take charge of designing curricula that reflect companies’ needs, supporting networks of industry instructors and mentors, and operating practical projects. Chosun College of Science & Technology will provide educational infrastructure, oversee academic administration, and support hands-on technical training.
The cooperation is part of a national policy program overseen by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT). As the lead partner company, Woongjin ThinkBig plans to systematically train customized talent capable of applying AI technology to manufacturing sites, a key pillar of Gwangju’s regional industry.
Kim Il-kyung, head of the DGP Business Division at Woongjin ThinkBig, said, "We will help train practical talent in AI-driven manufacturing innovation that is needed by industrial sites in Gwangju and support these young people in finding jobs in the region." Lee Eung-jae, president of Chosun College of Science & Technology, said, "We will build a bridge so that students can immediately apply what they have learned in industrial workplaces," adding, "We will develop this cooperation into a leading model for training regional talent."
