Naju-si to Provide KRW 200,000 Livelihood Recovery Support Payments to 117,000 Residents

【Financial News Naju = Hwang Tae-jong】Naju-si will provide a KRW 200,000 livelihood recovery support payment per person to approximately 117,000 residents starting on the 14th.
 The measure is intended to help stabilize the livelihoods of residents struggling with high prices and an economic slowdown, while boosting local consumption and revitalizing small businesses and neighborhood commercial districts.
 The livelihood recovery support payment will be provided under the Naju-si Livelihood Economy Recovery Support Ordinance. Eligible recipients are residents who have maintained resident registration in Naju-si continuously from July 1, 2026, through the application date.
 A Naju-si official stated, "Marriage immigrants and permanent residents are also eligible, bringing the total number of recipients to approximately 117,000."
 Applications will be accepted from the 14th through October 16. Payments will be issued via prepaid cards and mobile Naju Sarang Gift Certificates (CHAK).
 To support residents' livelihoods while maximizing the impact on local economic recovery, the funds may be used at credit card-affiliated stores with annual sales of KRW 3 billion or less and at Naju Sarang Gift Certificate-affiliated stores.
 However, considering the convenience of residents in myeon areas, the funds may exceptionally be used at Nonghyup Hanaro Mart locations and public local-food direct-sale stores in those areas.
 The funds must be used by November 30, and any balance remaining after the deadline cannot be used.  Naju-si will operate online applications, in-person applications at eup, myeon and dong administrative welfare centers, and a visiting application service so residents can apply more conveniently.
 In particular, to reduce congestion and ensure smooth processing during the initial application period, a five-day rotation system based on the last digit of applicants' birth years will operate from the 14th through the 18th. Starting on the 21st, anyone eligible may apply regardless of their birth year.
 Naju-si also plans to strengthen guidance and publicity regarding eligible merchants so that the funds lead to local consumption, which in turn boosts sales for local small businesses and creates a virtuous cycle that revitalizes the local economy.
