[Financial News] About 90 branches of NH NongHyup Financial Group's subsidiaries have obtained the Dementia-Friendly Company certification. This comes just two months after NH NongHyup Financial Group launched the 'Safe Care Project.' Starting this month, the group plans to minimize customer inconvenience by applying a dementia customer service manual at all branches.
According to the financial industry on the 3rd, NH NongHyup Financial Group is pursuing the 'Safe Care Project,' which encompasses everything from protecting senior customers' assets to dementia prevention and health management.
The project began last June under the leadership of the financial holding company, with seven subsidiaries participating, including the bank, life insurance, non-life insurance, securities, asset management, capital, and savings bank businesses.
Since the project was launched, about 90 pilot branches nationwide have obtained Dementia-Friendly Company certification through Dementia Relief Centers operated by local governments. To this end, employees completed 'Dementia Partner' training designed to improve awareness of dementia.
NH NongHyup Financial Group has also developed customized response standards tailored to each financial sector and customer characteristics to reduce the inconvenience customers may experience at financial institutions in connection with dementia. The 'Customer Service Manuals' prepared by each subsidiary based on the financial holding company's standard guidelines will be applied at all branches nationwide in September.
It is also strengthening specialized financial and care services to safely protect senior customers' assets and ease the caregiving burden on children who care for their parents.
In May, Nonghyup Bank launched the 'NH All One Wonderful Medical Expense Dementia Relief Trust,' which manages and disburses assets according to predetermined conditions if the customer later develops dementia or a serious illness, provided that the customer entrusts the assets while healthy.
NongHyup Life Insurance Co., Ltd. will conduct a three-month pilot test of its 'Safe Care Call' service for senior customers starting in September. Professional nurses will make one-on-one check-in calls, while AI voice analysis technology will be used to monitor changes in cognitive health.
Based on this information, the company will send health reports to customers' children and connect them with services such as appointments at tertiary hospitals and health counseling when an illness occurs. After further development, the service is scheduled to officially launch through a healthcare app early next year.
NH NongHyup Financial Group is also producing familiar content, such as four-panel comics, to reduce social stigma and fear surrounding dementia, while working to prevent financial accidents and support sound financial lives.
An NH NongHyup Financial Group official said, "This project was designed to provide a practical social safety net to local communities struggling with population aging and the risk of depopulation by leveraging NH's unique network connecting every corner of the country. We will actively support the government's dementia management policies and continue providing comprehensive solutions from the private financial sector so that senior customers and their families can enjoy their daily lives with peace of mind."
