Samsung SDS Hosts 'RX ART 2026' in the U.S., Accelerating RX Synergies

[Financial News] Samsung SDS announced on September 3 that it had hosted 'RX ART (Robotics Transformation Advancing Robotics Together) 2026' over two days, from August 31 to September 1 (local time), in Mountain View, California.
Executives and leaders responsible for robotics at major Samsung affiliates attended the event to discuss cooperation plans and identify joint projects. Samsung SDS worked with global physical AI companies, including Walden Robotics and RoboForce, to proactively validate industrial robotic use cases identified jointly with its affiliates and shared the results.
Going beyond simple technology demonstrations, the company secured data essential for artificial intelligence (AI) training based on real-world operational challenges and precisely assessed the feasibility of deploying robots. This enabled it to develop concrete solutions for practical implementation in industrial settings.
First, Samsung SDS used general-purpose robots from Walden Robotics to perform various manual tasks required at the manufacturing sites of Samsung Electro-Mechanics and SEMES, including parts handling and consumables replacement. The company verified whether the robots could be deployed in actual operations.
For work in unstructured and harsh outdoor environments, such as the shipbuilding and plant sites of Samsung Heavy Industries and Samsung E&A, Samsung SDS applied RoboForce's powerful physical AI-based Robo-Labor technology to assess the potential for robotic automation. In manufacturing and equipment environments requiring highly precise operations, such as those of Samsung Display, the company also incorporated the precision Dexterous Manipulation AI technology of robotics startup Company G, demonstrating the potential to automate complex and delicate processes.
Samsung SDS plans to rapidly translate the technological potential and optimal application methods identified through 'RX ART 2026' into real-world demonstrations at its affiliates' sites. It will also expand validated robotic use cases across the board, thereby fully launching RX (Robotics Transformation) to generate tangible results in actual industrial settings rather than merely introducing new technologies.
Ahn Dae-jung, executive vice president in charge of the Digital Factory at Samsung SDS, said, "RX ART was an opportunity for Samsung affiliates with different manufacturing sites to experience technologies together and share their ideas and concerns." He added, "Samsung SDS will continue to expand strategic partnerships with global physical AI robotics companies and actively support the affiliates' manufacturing RX initiatives."
