[Financial News] KT announced on the 3rd that it will launch a participatory campaign marking the 10th anniversary of its ‘Y’ brand for people in their 20s. Subscribers will appear directly in creators’ YouTube content. A total of 25 participants will be recruited in the fields of travel, volleyball, running and mukbang.
The collaboration will feature creators active in their respective fields, including travel creator Kwaktube, former national volleyball team player Sikppang Unnie Kim Yeon-koung, running creator Sheon and mukbang creator Tzuyang.
Five subscribers will take part in a deserted-island survival trip with Kwaktube, 10 will join Sikppang Unnie Kim Yeon-koung’s volleyball class, five will participate in the 10-kilometer completion challenge with Sheon, and five will compete in a mukbang battle with Tzuyang.
The 25 participants will join events prepared by the creators and take part directly in filming the content. The completed videos will later be released through each creator’s official YouTube channel.
Applications will be accepted on the Y brand website from the 3rd through the 27th. Applicants can choose their preferred creator and submit a statement explaining why they want to participate. Those who attach a ‘Shorts video’ showcasing their individuality will receive extra points.
Through this campaign, KT plans to expand the experience of Generation Z beyond simply watching creator content they enjoy to actively participating in it. The company will introduce a new way of communicating in which subscribers and the brand create content together.
Kim Young-geol, executive and head of the Customer Business Division in KT’s Customer Division, said, "We will continue to expand communication with young customers through Y’s differentiated experiences."
