[Financial News] DMS, which has focused on the display equipment business, is stepping up efforts in the semiconductor equipment sector. As part of that push, the company participated in a semiconductor exhibition in Taiwan, where it unveiled equipment for semiconductor glass substrates and other products.
According to industry sources on the 3rd, DMS set up a booth at SEMICON Taiwan 2026, an exhibition being held in Taipei through the 4th. There, the company unveiled wet-process equipment and cleaning solutions used in semiconductor back-end processes, or packaging.
SEMICON Taiwan is Taiwan’s largest semiconductor industry exhibition, organized by Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI). This year’s event is the largest ever, with more than 1,300 semiconductor companies from around the world participating and operating more than 4,300 booths. Taiwan is home to the headquarters of leading semiconductor back-end companies, including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world’s largest contract chipmaker, as well as Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) and Siliconware Precision Industries.
DMS is promoting its participation under the theme “Total Wet Solution Provider for Next-Gen Advanced Packaging.” Through the exhibition, it is actively showcasing wet-process equipment applicable to semiconductor glass substrates and fine-pitch FO-PLP processes.
In particular, DMS unveiled cleaning solutions related to TGV (Through Glass Via), which is used in next-generation semiconductor back-end processes, along with an equipment lineup capable of supporting various production methods.
DMS is expanding its semiconductor equipment business based on wet-process technologies accumulated in display cleaning, developing, etching and stripping equipment. After entering the OLED on Silicon (OLEDoS) and advanced semiconductor back-end markets in 2024, DMS also developed single-spin cleaning equipment for TGV processes this year.
A DMS official said, "Based on the wet-process technologies we have secured in the display equipment sector, we are expanding into semiconductor equipment fields with high growth potential, such as advanced semiconductor back-end processes and glass substrates. Through this exhibition, we will broaden our connections with global semiconductor companies and expand opportunities to win orders for new semiconductor equipment businesses."
