[Financial News] Nol Universe is transforming the way work is done across the organization with artificial intelligence (AI). The company aims to boost employees’ use of AI, improve productivity, and revolutionize the services experienced by customers.
According to Nol Universe’s comparison of work metrics for its development organization over the past three months with those from the same period last year, the use of AI significantly improved development speed and efficiency. The amount of code written per developer rose 71%, while the time from writing code to deploying it in an actual service was cut by more than half. The time required to receive initial approval after peer review also fell 41%, and the rate at which code had to be rewritten for revisions declined 12%.
To expand these AI-use experiences and expertise across the organization, Nol Universe launched the internal AI transformation portal, the “NOL AI Transformation (AX) Hub,” in July. The portal connects AI-related work cases previously used separately by individual teams, allowing employees to find and reuse them in one place. It also consolidates information such as guides and training on AI tools.
For example, Nol Universe built an AI assistant that retrieves and analyzes airline source code, databases (DB), and application programming interfaces (APIs) in real time. This enables employees to handle information-checking tasks directly, without having to go through developers as before. The company also developed a system that automatically generates templates for simulated malicious-email training based on large language models (LLMs) and automates the training process itself. Going forward, Nol Universe plans to operate the “Engineering AX Awards,” in which employees directly select and recognize outstanding AI-use cases, to continuously identify and spread examples of tangible workplace improvements.
Nol Universe also plans to innovate the AI services experienced by customers. After launching “AI Nori,” a conversational travel-product recommendation service, in December last year, the company opened “Discovery,” an AI curation service, in July.
Kim Young-jin, chief technology officer (CTO) of Nol Universe, said, "We are focusing on establishing AI not as a tool for certain organizations or roles, but as a way of working that everyone can use routinely in their daily work."
