[Financial News] As the headline partner of Frieze Seoul 2026, Shinsegae Group is bringing the global art fair’s artistic experience into customers’ everyday spaces.
From the 3rd through the 6th, Shinsegae Group will present a special exhibition and classical performances at Starfield Library in Starfield COEX Mall, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The program is designed to allow not only Frieze Seoul visitors but also general visitors who have not purchased separate tickets to freely enjoy culture and the arts.
Shinsegae Group will serve as Frieze Seoul’s headline partner for five years starting this year. Alongside supporting the successful operation of the global art fair, the group plans to broaden visitors’ artistic experiences through various programs, including the Shinsegae Lounge and special exhibitions.
The Starfield Library program was also designed to extend Frieze Seoul’s artistic experience beyond the exhibition venue, allowing customers to encounter culture and the arts in their everyday lives.
Starfield Library will first showcase works by Koo Bohnchang, one of Korea’s leading contemporary photographers. Major works from his signature Moon jar series will be displayed in an extra-large format, while more than 10 additional works will be installed in the form of large folding screens.
Yoo Ihwa, the daughter of renowned architect Itami Jun and an architect who continues his architectural philosophy, is responsible for the exhibition’s spatial design. Images of the works have been rendered on semi-transparent fabric panels that softly transmit light, creating a natural harmony with the Starfield Library space.
A special performance by Daniel Lozakovich, a violinist attracting attention on the global classical music stage, will take place this afternoon. Jae Hong Park, the 2021 winner of the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, will join him onstage for an ensemble performance.
A Shinsegae Group official said, "We organized this special exhibition and performance so that more customers could experience world-class culture and the arts up close through Frieze Seoul." The official added, "We will continue to expand cultural and artistic experiences in everyday life through diverse content and spaces that connect culture and the arts with our customers."
