MOIS Urgently Provides KRW 2 Billion in Special Disaster Grants to Three Provinces Hit by Torrential Rain

[Financial News]  The Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) will urgently provide KRW 2 billion in special disaster and safety management grants to three provincial-level jurisdictions—Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City, South Chungcheong Province, and Jeonbuk State—that were damaged by torrential rain from August 28 to September 1.
MOIS said on September 3 that it had decided to provide the special disaster grants to expedite recovery in areas affected by the torrential rain. The funds will be used for urgently needed measures on the ground, including emergency restoration of damaged facilities and relief for displaced residents.
Minister Yun Ho-jung said, "Above all, restoring residents' daily lives is important, so I ask local governments and relevant agencies to make every effort to swiftly manage the situation on the ground. The government will also carefully listen to voices from the field and spare no necessary support until the difficulties facing the affected regions are resolved."
