[Financial News] Lotteria, the burger franchise operated by LOTTE GRS, is taking steps to promote rural tourism.
According to Lotteria on the 3rd, the company will hold the customer-participation campaign "2026 National Tanning King Contest" through the 5th of next month. The campaign will use the accessibility of stores nationwide and the strength of K-burgers to promote rural tourism.
The campaign is designed to promote regional tourism and is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and the Korea Rural Community Corporation.
Rather than simply offering rewards for customer participation, Lotteria designed the initiative as an "experiential win-win event" that links 25 Lotteria stores with 27 nearby rural experience and recreation villages, encouraging visitors to continue on to rural tourism destinations.
Building on its efforts to develop sales channels by purchasing local agricultural products and providing logistics support through the Young Farmers Virtuous Cycle Project, which Lotteria has operated to support local farms, the company is using its brand’s accessibility advantage to promote regional tourism.
To participate, customers must place a pickup order through the Lotteeatz app at a Lotteria store linked to a rural experience and recreation village. After receiving a "Tteriang X Chonsigi" sticker, they can take a tanning proof photo at the village’s photo zone and post it on their personal social media account. Participation is completed through the Lotteeatz page.
A LOTTE GRS representative said, "We will continue to consider mutually beneficial models that can contribute to the growth of local communities, including the programs we currently operate to support local farms."
