[Financial News] A venue will allow visitors to see how SK Group’s artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities are being implemented at an actual manufacturing site. SK Innovation’s Ulsan CLX (Ulsan CLX) announced on the 3rd that it will showcase manufacturing AI at the Ulsan World Future Industries Expo (World Advanced Vision Expo 2026), held for three days from the 10th to the 12th at the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center (UECO).
The SK exhibition hall, which will be the largest among participating companies, brings SK Group’s vision for an ‘AI value chain’ together in one space under the slogan ‘SK, Leading AI Transformation (AX) Future.’
Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, has presented an ‘AI full-stack provider’ strategy spanning semiconductors, AI data centers, energy and services as a key pillar of the group’s future growth.
Accordingly, the SK exhibition hall is designed to let visitors experience firsthand ‘manufacturing AI’ operating in real-world refining and petrochemical facilities.
The centerpiece of the exhibition is the ‘Dual Brain Portal’ at the center of the hall. It represents Ulsan CLX’s commitment to continuing its growth as a more efficient plant through a dual-brain system, more than 60 years after it began as Korea’s first oil refinery. Dual Brain refers to an integrated operating system that combines ‘Brain AI,’ which directly participates in human decision-making, with the capabilities of Ulsan CLX engineers accumulated over decades in the field.
Hong Gwang-pyo, executive vice president overseeing Ulsan CLX, said, "We will showcase how SK’s AI capabilities, accumulated through semiconductors and data centers, are bearing fruit in the real-world refining and petrochemical industries." He added, "By combining AI’s decision-making capabilities with the insights our employees have accumulated over decades, we will lead the great transformation toward manufacturing AX through the Dual Brain."
