Constitutional Research Institute to Hold 15th International Academic Symposium, Reexamining Constitutional Values

[Financial News] The Constitutional Research Institute of the Constitutional Court of Korea will hold the 15th International Academic Symposium at 2 p.m. on the 4th in the institute’s eighth-floor auditorium.
Under the theme “The Crisis of Democracy and the International Order: Reexamining the Rule of Law and Constitutional Values,” the symposium will be moderated by Kim Ha-yeol, a professor at Korea University School of Law. Martin Loughlin, an emeritus professor at the law school of the London School of Economics and Political Science; Jörn Axel Kämmerer, a professor at Bucerius Law School; and Yoon Sung-hyun, a professor in Hanyang University’s Department of Public Policy, will each present on the crisis of democracy and possible responses through constitutional law and judicial review.
The Constitutional Research Institute said, "We expect this symposium to serve as an international forum for academic research and exchange, where participants can reconsider the meaning of democracy, reexamine the rule of law and constitutional values, and explore ways to overcome the crisis of democracy."
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Research Institute has held an international academic symposium every year since its first year of operation in 2011 to strengthen international cooperation and promote understanding of the theory and practice of constitutional law and constitutional adjudication.
