[Financial News] KT will operate digital advertising at CU convenience stores nationwide. The company plans to accelerate its push into the retail media network (RMN) market by using everyday retail stores as new advertising channels.
KT announced on the 3rd that it had signed a retail media network (RMN) business agreement with BGF Networks and would begin operating digital signage advertising at CU convenience stores.
KT will operate digital signage advertising installed at approximately 3,000 CU stores nationwide in connection with its proprietary advertising platform, Baro Gwanggo.
Baro Gwanggo is KT’s advertising platform, integrating the entire advertising process, from searching for advertising products and placing orders to campaign execution and performance analysis. Through Baro Gwanggo, advertisers can review various retail media products, select their preferred media, and execute and manage campaigns.
KT plans to improve advertisers’ convenience and the efficiency of campaign execution through Baro Gwanggo. It also intends to expand its retail media network business, focusing on everyday retail channels such as convenience stores. Drawing on its experience in advertising operations and data analysis capabilities, KT will develop digital media at retail stores into data-driven advertising channels and continue expanding cooperation with major retail channels.
Kim Byung-jin, executive vice president and head of KT’s Media Business Division, said, "We will continue strengthening our competitiveness in the data-driven advertising business by leveraging our big data capabilities and the Baro Gwanggo platform."
