Lee & Ko Seminar on the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and the Yellow Envelope Act: What Should Companies Focus On? [Law Firm News]

[Financial News] Lee & Ko will introduce key corporate safety, health, and labor-management issues, along with response measures, arising from the implementation of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and the so-called “Yellow Envelope Act,” the amended Trade Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act. Drawing on its accumulated advisory and litigation experience, the firm plans to offer practical solutions to corporate practitioners.
Lee & Ko announced on the 3rd that it will hold the seminar online and offline on the 10th, jointly hosted by its Labor Group and Serious Accidents Center. Based on its experience in labor and serious-accident advisory work and litigation, the seminar will focus on presenting specific legal risks that corporate practitioners may face in the field and outlining appropriate responses.
At the seminar, attorney Hong Jeong-yeon will speak on “Recent Trends in the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and Outlook Following Reforms to Criminal Procedure.” Hong is an expert in labor and serious-accident investigations who previously served as a dispatched prosecutor at the Ministry of Employment and Labor and as head of the Labor Investigation Support Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office of the Republic of Korea (SPO).
Attorneys Lee Jeong-woo and Oh Yong-su, who have built up corporate advisory experience in labor and compliance, will then present on “Practical Issues Following the Implementation of the Yellow Envelope Act.” They will focus on labor-management issues that companies should review after the Act takes effect, potential disputes, and practical response measures.
The Q&A session will feature the presenters along with attorneys Lee Sang-hyeon, Song Hyeon-seok, and Kim Yeong-jin, who will address specific issues raised in corporate workplaces. An Kyung-duk, a former Minister of Employment and Labor, and managing partner Kim Hu-gon, a former chief of the Seoul High Public Prosecutors' Office, will also attend and continue discussions encompassing labor policy and criminal-justice practice.
