SBA to Help Youth Preparing for Independent Living Become Professional Caddies Through Free Training

[Financial News] Seoul Business Agency (SBA) is expanding employment opportunities in the golf industry for young people beyond professional caddie positions to include various golf course jobs, such as course maintenance, facility management and food and beverage (F&B) services.
 According to industry sources on the 3rd, SBA is recruiting trainees aged 19 to 39 for its “2026 Professional Caddie Training and Employment-Linkage Program for the Golf Industry.” Conducted in partnership with Green Jacket, the program provides comprehensive support, from caddie training and on-site instruction at golf courses to employment placement.
 Women with or without prior work experience, young people preparing for economic independence and those seeking to switch to service-sector jobs are eligible to participate. Women preparing for a new start after childcare or a career change may also apply, with no gender restrictions. Up to 30 participants will be recruited.
 This year, SBA has expanded employment placement beyond its previous focus on professional caddies to include various golf course positions, such as course maintenance, facility management and F&B services. After completing common core training, participants can be connected with jobs suited to their preferences and aptitudes, including professional caddie positions and other golf course roles.
 Golf courses including Woojeong Hills CC and La Vie Est Belle CC are expected to participate in on-site training and employment placement.
 The program will also offer additional points in the interview evaluation to socially disadvantaged groups, expanding participation opportunities for young people facing difficulties in finding employment and achieving independence.
 Long-term unemployed people who have been out of work for six months or more, socially isolated young people, single-parent families and recipients of National Basic Livelihood Security benefits can receive five additional points in the interview evaluation. Youth preparing for independent living—young adults formerly in protective care—will receive ten additional points.
 Young people interested in participating can apply through SBA’s online application page by 11 p.m. on the 14th. Training is scheduled to begin on the 29th.
