"So That Neither Children nor Dreams Are Given Up"... Woori Financial Supports Independent Living for Adolescent Unmarried Single Parents

[Financial News] The Woori Financial Future Foundation held a meeting to share the results of the Support Program for the Independent Living of Adolescent Unmarried Single Parents at the Archdiocese of Seoul headquarters in Jung District, Seoul, on the 3rd, together with the Archdiocese of Seoul and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. The meeting was organized to celebrate the achievements of beneficiaries who have worked toward their individual goals, including education and employment, and to share their experiences and reflections during the process of becoming self-reliant.
The Woori Financial Future Foundation’s Woori Wonder Family is a support program designed to help adolescent unmarried single parents, who are vulnerable to financial hardship and social isolation, establish stable lives in society. Beginning with living-expense support in 2023, the program expanded its assistance this year to include medical expenses, scholarships, and congratulatory and encouragement grants for education and employment. Rather than providing only basic livelihood assistance, it focuses on establishing a practical foundation for independent living. Six beneficiaries who had built a foundation for self-reliance through the Woori Wonder Family program attended the event and shared their achievements. Based on their accomplishments, the Woori Financial Future Foundation provided each with up to 3 million won in scholarships or employment congratulatory grants.
Jong-ryong Yim, chairman of the Woori Financial Future Foundation, said, "I was deeply moved by your courage and determination to achieve university admission and employment without giving up either, despite the difficult circumstances of raising children while pursuing your studies." He added, "I hope today’s success stories will become a source of hope for the many adolescent unmarried single parents who are hesitant to take on new challenges."
