Rain Continues in Eastern Jeju Province, but Temperatures Reach 31°C... Seas to See Waves of Up to 5 Meters from Tomorrow

From the 4th, waves in the eastern coastal waters of Jeju Province and the southern offshore waters are forecast to reach up to 5 meters, requiring caution for maritime safety.
According to the Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 3rd, Jeju Province will be mostly cloudy, with occasional rain expected from 9 a.m. until late at night, mainly in areas east of Hallasan.
Expected precipitation is 5–20 mm. Rain is relatively more likely in Jeju City, Seongsan, Sancheondan, Hannam, and Seongpanak, while the western region may see little or no rain, with a lull in some areas.
The rain will not easily break the heat. The daytime high in Jeju Province is forecast to reach 31°C, about 2–3 degrees higher than the average high of 27.6–28.8°C.
On the 2nd, the highest temperatures in Jeju Province reached 31.3–33.1°C. Morning lows were also recorded at 24.7–25.8°C, and tropical nights continued in some areas, with temperatures failing to fall sufficiently below 25°C overnight.
Rain will continue on the 4th. Jeju Province will be mostly cloudy before becoming occasionally overcast from the evening, with 5–20 mm of rain expected in some areas through the late afternoon. Rain will continue from the morning, mainly in mountainous areas, although there will also be many periods of a lull.
On the 5th, skies will be occasionally cloudy, with 5–20 mm of rain expected from late afternoon through late night, mainly in mountainous and mid-mountain areas. On the 6th, Jeju Province will be mostly cloudy, with rain likely to return in some areas.
Temperatures will gradually fall, but the heat is expected to remain above average. Daytime highs are forecast at 29–30°C on the 4th, 28–29°C on the 5th, and 27–29°C on the 6th.
Winds will also strengthen on land. From the 4th, strong northeasterly to easterly winds are forecast in mountainous areas and along coastal areas, including Jeju City and Seongsan. People should take precautions to secure outdoor facilities and prevent safety accidents.
Marine conditions will become rougher. Waves in the coastal waters of Jeju Province are expected to rise sharply from the 3rd, when they will reach up to about 2.5 meters. In particular, waves of 2.0–5.0 meters are expected in the eastern coastal waters of Jeju Province on the 4th and 5th.
In the southern coastal waters of Jeju Province, waves are forecast to reach up to 4.0 meters on the 4th and 5th. Waves in the southwestern and southeastern inner offshore waters and the southern outer offshore waters are expected to reach as high as 5.0 meters.
Winds may also blow strongly at 10–18 meters per second, so vessels engaged in navigation or fishing should check weather information frequently.
The Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration urged people to take particular care with their health and the safety of facilities on land, as well as vessel operations and fishing safety at sea, as hot weather and tropical nights are expected to continue and the possibility of strong winds and rough seas increases.
