Trump Says Resumed Military Operation Against Iran “Will Not Last Too Long”

U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 2nd (local time) that the military operation against Iran, which had resumed, would not last too long.
President Trump made the remarks while answering reporters’ questions at the White House that day.
Trump said, "I don't know how much longer they can take it," but added, "But it doesn't matter how long that is." He then emphasized the justification for resuming the military attacks.
He claimed, "They were trying to rebuild their radar systems, missile systems and mine-laying systems," adding, "They were trying to build rockets to lay mines." He also stressed that "it was almost complete, so we took it out," and that "last night's attack was very powerful, and we are ready to attack again whenever we want."
The remarks came as the United States and Iran resumed hostilities, sending oil prices and Treasury yields sharply higher and dragging down New York stocks.
Ahead of the midterm elections on November 3, he appears to be walking a dangerous tightrope—projecting an image of a “strong president” to voters while trying to avoid the fallout from a surge in oil prices.
