[Financial News] Cheong Wa Dae has established the position of National Strategic Investment Adviser to accelerate the implementation of Mega Projects, the country's large-scale national investment projects.
A Cheong Wa Dae official said on the 2nd, "We established the position of National Strategic Investment Adviser to accelerate the implementation of Mega Projects, which are large-scale investment projects."
The official title of the position, initially referred to provisionally as the 'Mega Project Adviser,' has been finalized as National Strategic Investment Adviser.
The official explained that the title was changed "to more clearly express and emphasize the government's strategic investment in Mega Projects and the control-tower function across government ministries."
The National Strategic Investment Adviser will coordinate and advance, across government ministries, the large-scale investment projects pursued by the government, including semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence (AI) data centers, and Physical AI.
On the 30th of last month, President Lee Jae Myung appointed Lee Won-joo, head of the Energy Transition Policy Office at the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, to the provisionally named Mega Project Adviser position. With the official title now finalized as National Strategic Investment Adviser, the position will oversee Mega Projects' strategic investments and coordination among ministries.
