Jang filed a complaint for false accusation against Woman A, who accused him of quasi-forcible indecent assault and other charges, and Woman A's former boyfriend, Man B. Man B is reportedly the person who filmed the video released in connection with the allegations that Jang sexually assaulted someone.
During the questioning, Jang reportedly submitted as evidence conversation records exchanged with people who were present at the meal in October 2024, when the sexual assault allegations arose, as well as materials from a group chat room.
At a press conference at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea that day, Jang also released some of the related materials, saying that the people who had been present exchanged messages expressing concern for him at the time. He repeatedly denied the sexual assault allegations, stating, "I appeared before the police as the complainant in the false-accusation case and submitted a large amount of evidence."
Earlier, the Women and Juvenile Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency referred Jang to prosecutors without detention in March on charges including quasi-forcible indecent assault. The police investigation review committee also recommended referring Jang to prosecutors that same month on the quasi-forcible indecent assault charge.
The sexual assault case is still under investigation at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office. Police are also expected to analyze the materials submitted in the false-accusation case filed by Jang and continue questioning those involved.
