Korea Customs Service Commissioner Lee Jong-wook Conducts On-Site Inspection to Establish Nth-Layer Blockade Against Drug Smuggling via Travelers and Express Delivery

[Financial News] The Korea Customs Service announced that Commissioner Lee Jong-wook visited Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 on the 2nd to inspect the status of the redesign of the border surveillance and enforcement system to block drug smuggling, as well as necessary personnel and equipment, and ordered frontline customs officers to respond thoroughly.
This inspection was organized to review the progress and necessary improvements regarding the redesign of the surveillance and enforcement system for air travelers and express delivery sectors, which are major routes for drug smuggling.
Commissioner Lee stated, "Following the completion of the second line of defense in international mail and other sectors, it is crucial to redesign the traveler and express delivery sectors, which are major smuggling routes," adding, "We will spare no support or effort, including personnel and budget, in establishing the Nth line of defense to block drug smuggling at the customs border."
