【Berlin (Germany) = Reporter Lim Soo-bin】#. The next-generation AI home hub 'LG ThinQ On' in the living room pre-sets the house to the perfect temperature and air quality for you upon your return home. Upon entering the kitchen, it recommends a dinner menu and cooking order based on your ingredients, family schedule, and eating habits. When you go to bed, it automatically adjusts the air conditioner and lighting to match the next day's schedule and sleep environment. Even when you are away from home, you can remotely control necessary appliances by chatting with the AI agent 'ThinQ Clo'.LG Electronics will showcase an expanded AI home ecosystem at 'IFA 2026,' Europe's largest consumer electronics exhibition, that integrates AI appliances, the AI Home Hub, and the AI Home Platform into a single system. The company aims to expand its competitiveness by creating an AI home that autonomously manages customers' daily lives, going beyond the AI functions of individual appliances to connect home spaces, energy, and external services.
LG Electronics announced on the 3rd that it will participate in IFA 2026, which will be held in Berlin, Germany for five days starting on the 4th (local time). This year, the company has organized its exhibition space, spanning approximately 3,745 square meters, under the main theme of "Innovation Tailored to You," and will showcase a total of around 150 key products on-site. In particular, about 46% of the entire exhibition booth has been allocated as a consultation space exclusively for business partners. By operating the largest private booth in its history, the company is also targeting business-to-business (B2B) customers, including local distributors.

AI, managing the whole house beyond home appliances

The centerpiece of the exhibition is the AI Home. Centered on the next-generation AI Home hub 'LG ThinQ ON' and the AI Home platform 'LG ThinQ,' it integrates home appliances and services across the living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and outdoor spaces into a single unified system. The exhibition is designed to allow visitors to intuitively experience the AI Home, featuring various realistic living spaces such as the living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and outdoor areas, where AI understands every aspect of the customer's environment and provides necessary functions tailored to its specific characteristics.
LG is also introducing 'ThinQ CLO,' which enhances the autonomous AI agent capabilities of LG ThinQ, for the first time. Built into LG ThinQ ON, ThinQ CLO is an action-oriented AI agent that converses naturally with customers to understand their lifestyle patterns and situations, and proactively suggests and executes necessary functions. It offers convenience by allowing users to remotely control home appliances via chat and further integrates with various external services such as web search and calendars.
The scope of AI Home is expanding to include commercial spaces. Through the B2B integrated management solution 'LG ThinQ Pro,' it enables the integrated management of home appliances, HVAC systems, and energy facilities in buildings and offices. LG Electronics is also introducing a Home Energy Management System (HEMS) utilizing 'Homi,' a tool from 'AtHome,' a smart home platform company acquired in 2024. Homi is an open platform capable of connecting and integrally controlling over 50,000 IoT devices, including appliances, lighting, and sensors. It has now evolved to provide integrated management of the entire home's energy flow by linking with AI appliances, HVAC systems, solar power, and ESS. Leveraging its brand power built over more than 10 years in Europe, the company plans to utilize this as a B2B solution for clients such as multi-family housing construction companies.

The new 'Fit & Max' lineup, targeting the European market, is also being unveiled for the first time. This product range features a design that fits perfectly into space, similar to built-in appliances, while enhancing capacity, performance, and convenience. The scope of application has been expanded from a focus on refrigerators to include washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers. It targets the characteristics of European consumers who prioritize space and energy efficiency. The refrigerators feature a structure that allows the doors to open up to 110 degrees, while the washing appliances secure washing and drying capacity while maintaining the European standard furniture depth of 600mm.
AI-based high-efficiency technologies are also being put at the forefront. Features introduced include 'AI SenseClean,' which suggests a wash course by analyzing the quantity and soiling level of dishes; 'AI Wash & Dry,' which analyzes clothing fabric materials; 'AI Fresh,' which optimizes cooling operation based on usage patterns; and 'AI Saving Mode,' which optimizes power consumption.
TVs and premium home appliances will also be on display. The 2026 'LG OLED evo AI' and Micro RGB evo will be showcased, along with the 83-inch wireless wallpaper TV 'LG SIGNATURE OLED W' and LG SIGNATURE home appliances.
At the entrance of the exhibition hall, the 'LG AI Orchestra,' conducted by the AI home robot 'LG Cloid,' will be presented. It is expected to showcase the future of a 'Zero Labor Home' that reduces housework by demonstrating how home appliances, TVs, and air conditioning products are organically connected within the house.
Baek Seung-tae, Executive Vice President and Head of LG Electronics’ Home Appliance Business Division, said, "We will solidify our leadership in the global premium home appliance market with a more convenient and expanded AI home ecosystem, including AI appliances, the AI Home Hub, and the AI Home Platform."
