[Financial News] President Lee Jae Myung on the 2nd ordered authorities to mobilize all available resources for rescue operations after a tugboat carrying eight crew members capsized near Oryukdo Islets in Busan.
Kang Yoo-jung, a senior spokesperson for Cheong Wa Dae, said that after being briefed on the accident, President Lee ordered officials to mobilize all available resources to rescue those aboard and make every effort to manage the aftermath.
According to the Busan Coast Guard and other authorities, a 286-ton Busan-registered tugboat capsized at around 1:30 p.m. that day in waters about 9 kilometers southeast of Oryukdo Islets, Busan.
Eight crew members were aboard the vessel, and one of them was rescued by a cargo ship passing through the accident area. The Coast Guard urgently dispatched personnel and equipment to the site and is conducting rescue operations for the remaining crew members.
