Inje City Tour to Begin on September 4 as First Hometown Love Fund Project

【Financial News Inje County = Kim Ki-seop】The Inje County city tour, created with hometown donation funds, will connect the county’s major tourist attractions from September 4 through November.
Inje County said on the 2nd that it will officially launch the city tour on the 4th as the first project funded by the Hometown Love Fund. The initiative uses donations to promote local tourism and improve transportation convenience. It combines major tourist attractions and hands-on programs into unified itineraries to encourage longer stays and invigorate the local economy.
The tour will initially operate on two routes: the Baekdamsa Temple–Naetgang Village route on Fridays and the Wondae-ri Birch Forest route on Saturdays, beginning on the 4th.
The Baekdamsa Temple–Naetgang Village route starts at the Yeocho Calligraphy Museum and connects Baekdam Village, Baekdamsa Temple, and Naetgang Village. Participants view an exhibition with a guide and make a seal at the museum, tour Baekdamsa Temple, and enjoy rural activities such as making potato pancakes and harvesting farm produce in Naetgang Village. The Wondae-ri Birch Forest route links Inje Speedium, Hachuri Mountain Village, Wondae-ri Birch Forest, and Haessal Village. It offers a full day of nature-based healing and local experiences, including a classic car museum, go-karting, cooking rice in a cast-iron pot, exploring the birch forest, and a foot bath.
A special route will also operate during the autumn flower festival. From September 24 to October 11, the tour will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, linking the festival venue at Yongdae Tourist Complex with the Yeocho Calligraphy Museum and Baekdamsa Temple. This will allow visitors to explore the festival and major tourist attractions in a single day. However, there will be no service on September 25, the day of Chuseok.
The fare is 10,000 won per person, and each passenger will receive a 10,000-won Inje Love Gift Certificate. Participants must pay separately for optional activities and meals at individual tourist attractions. Vehicles will be assigned flexibly according to the number of reservations, and at least 10 passengers are required for a tour to operate. Reservations can be made through the Now Here Inje website, Inje County’s tourism portal.
Passengers can board and disembark at two locations—Jeongjungang Rest Area and Buk-myeon Administrative Welfare Center—making the tour accessible to both public transportation users and those traveling by car. Inje County plans to expand the routes gradually as conditions are established at additional attractions, including the Hangyesanseong Fortress route and the Wondae-ri Birch Forest circular route.
Kim Jang-ung, head of Inje County’s Regional Development Division, said, "The significance lies in turning funds raised through hometown donations into a project that offers tourists new travel experiences while providing tangible support to local villages and tourist attractions." He added, "We will operate the tour thoroughly so that visitors can enjoy Inje County’s nature, culture, and hands-on activities without the burden of traveling between sites and stay longer."
