KORAIL Tourism Development’s New CEO Song Gwang-seok Takes Office, Vowing to Strengthen Railway Tourism Competitiveness

KORAIL Tourism Development held an inauguration ceremony for its 15th CEO, Song Gwang-seok, at its headquarters in Yongsan District, Seoul, on the 2nd and announced that he had officially begun his duties.
In his inaugural address, CEO Song said he would build a sustainable railway tourism company in which public value and profitability grow together. He identified field-oriented management, stronger railway tourism competitiveness, customer-service innovation, regional coexistence, safety as the top priority, and ethical and responsible management as key areas of focus.
In particular, he said he would regard onboard crew services as the point of contact closest to customers and actively reflect feedback from the field to improve service quality.
He also plans to expand tourism products that connect railways with the cultural and tourism resources of local communities. By strengthening stay-based tourism linking transportation, accommodation, and sightseeing, he aims to contribute to revitalizing regional economies. The company will also upgrade its digital tourism services and reinforce its preventive safety management system.
CEO Song said, "We will leap forward as a company that connects people and regions through railways and creates new value in tourism," adding, "We will deliver railway tourism services that customers can truly feel by improving the quality of onboard crew services."
