[Breaking] Prosecutors Appeal First-Instance Verdict in 'Gangbuk Motel Serial Murders' Case Against Kim So-young... "Unfair Sentencing"

[Financial News] Prosecutors have appealed the first-instance verdict against Kim So-young (20), who was sentenced to life imprisonment for allegedly giving men drug-laced drinks at motels and other locations in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, causing some to die and others to be injured.
According to legal sources on the 2nd, the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office submitted an appeal that day to the 14th Criminal Division of the Seoul Northern District Court (Presiding Judge Oh Byung-hee), citing a misunderstanding of the law regarding the acquittal on some special-injury charges and unfair sentencing.
Defendant Kim So-young also filed an appeal on the 28th of last month, the day after the verdict. As both sides have challenged the first-instance ruling, the case is expected to be reconsidered in the second instance.
Meanwhile, Kim So-young is accused of giving psychotropic-drug-laced drinks to three men in their 20s between December last year and February this year, causing two to die and leaving one in critical condition. She is also accused of injuring three men in their 20s and 30s in the same manner between October last year and January this year.
