Paradise City to Host A.A. Murakami’s First Solo Exhibition in Korea, ‘New Nature’

Paradise City announced on the 1st that it will present ‘New Nature,’ the first solo exhibition in Korea by A.A. Murakami, an artist duo comprising Japan’s Azusa Murakami and the United Kingdom’s Alexander Grove.
The exhibition, themed ‘Nature after Nature,’ features works that use technology to reinterpret the creation, transformation, and disappearance of nature. It will run through February 10 of next year.
A.A. Murakami has developed a distinctive artistic practice through ‘Ephemeral Tech,’ which combines advanced technology with materials that lack a fixed form and disappear, such as soap bubbles and mist. Their works are held in the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Georges Pompidou National Art and Culture Centre (Centre Pompidou), and M+ Museum.
On the first floor of the exhibition venue, ‘New Spring’ features soap bubbles blooming and vanishing like flowers from a 6.4-meter-tall wooden structure. ‘Beyond the Horizon,’ which uses mist and light, will also be on display.
The second floor will feature the new work ‘Mud Painting: A Thousand Layers of Camouflage Series,’ unveiled worldwide for the first time. An autonomous machine follows computer code to build up shell patterns layer by layer on a canvas.
Paradise City has held large-scale contemporary art exhibitions for four consecutive years, following Banksy and Keith Haring in 2023, Josh Sperling in 2024, and Joel Mesler in 2025.
