Kangwon Land Inaugurates CEO Kim Do-kyun: "Leaping Forward as a Global Public-Type Integrated Resort"

Kangwon Land announced on the 2nd that it held an inauguration ceremony for its new CEO, Kim Do-kyun, at the High1 Grand Hotel in Jeongseon County, Gangwon Province, and that he has officially begun his duties.
Prior to the inauguration ceremony, CEO Kim visited the Memorial Tower for Fallen Industrial Workers in Taebaek, Gangwon Province, as his first official schedule to pay respects and reaffirmed his commitment to mutual development with the local community.
At the inauguration ceremony attended by approximately 300 employees, CEO Kim defined Kangwon Land as "a core anchor enterprise of the local economy built upon the aspirations and sacrifices of the residents," and stated, "Ahead of the 30th anniversary of its founding, I will create a definite turning point to turn the crisis into an opportunity."
To this end, the company presented three major management directions: △ leaping forward as a 'global public complex resort' equipped with both profitability and public interest, △ establishing a win-win platform to revitalize the local economy, and △ innovating organizational culture based on the spirit of 'Sanghadongyokjaseung' (If everyone shares the same desire, they will win).
CEO Kim stated that he would enhance the execution of the large-scale investment project, the 'K-HIT Project,' and transform it into a four-season entertainment resort, while also striving to restructure the local industrial ecosystem and create jobs for young people.
He also emphasized that he would create a workplace with fair personnel management and safety as the top priority, based on labor-management relations and respect.
CEO Kim, a native of Sokcho, was commissioned as a member of the 44th class of the Korea Military Academy (KMA) and served as the Director of the North Korea Policy Division at the Ministry of National Defense, Secretary for Defense Reform at the Office of National Security (ONS), and Director of North Korea Policy at the Ministry of National Defense. He joined the Democratic Party of Korea in 2023 and served as the Central Party's Defense Spokesperson and Chairman of the Gangwon Provincial Party Committee.
