[Financial News] The blurrier a person's vision is, the lower their concentration becomes and the greater their cognitive load.
According to the science YouTube channel Jang Dong-sun’s Curious Brain on the 3rd, blurred vision can cause eye strain and headaches because it makes it difficult to see clearly and concentrate. As a result, cognitive load also increases.
An experiment reported in a paper from the University of Tübingen in Germany found that the blurrier a person's vision, the greater the cognitive load on the brain. In a test that required participants with blurred vision to move beads by hand, their cognitive load increased. Blurred vision negatively affected even a simple hand-movement task such as moving beads. By contrast, cognitive load decreased among people who wore eyeglass lenses that provided clearer vision.
Blurred vision can affect children's academic performance and development, while it may increase the risk of dementia in older adults. In other words, maintaining clear visual stimulation can have a positive effect on brain function.
