【Financial News Yeosu = Reporter Hwang Tae-jong】Yeosu will reduce parking fees by 50% at 15 paid public parking lots in the city during the 2026 Yeosu World Island Exhibition, which runs from September 5 to November 4.
The reduction is intended to ease the parking burden on visitors and residents and improve parking convenience in major areas, including the exhibition site and the old downtown district. The 15 locations are the exhibition site (Gonghwa-dong), Baekya Port, Seogyo-dong, Seogyo Yeondeungcheon, Seonwon-dong, Yeosu Specialty Seafood Market (Lots 1, 2 and 3), City Hall Rotary, Yeomun, Yeomun Park, Yeoseo-dong Rotary, Orim-dong, Hwajang-dong and Jongpo Marine Park public parking lots.
The hourly parking fee at these lots will be reduced by 50%, from 1,200 won to 600 won. However, the daily maximum parking fee will remain unchanged at 5,000 won.
Yeosu plans to actively promote the policy by posting notices at the designated public parking lots and major facilities so that users can easily check the eligible lots and details of the reduction.
A Yeosu official said, "We are implementing this reduction so that visitors attending the 2026 Yeosu World Island Exhibition and residents can ease their parking costs and use public parking lots more conveniently." The official added, "We will do our utmost to ensure smooth traffic flow and create a pleasant parking environment throughout the exhibition."
