E Sens Denies Club Indecent Assault Charge: "There Was No Contact Against Her Will"

[Financial News] Rapper E Sens, whose real name is Kang Min-ho, denied the charge at his first trial after being indicted for allegedly assaulting a woman at a club.
The Seoul Southern District Court’s Criminal Division 12, presided over by Judge Seo Young-woo, held the first hearing on the morning of the 2nd for Kang, who was indicted on a charge of indecent assault by force.
According to prosecutors, Kang is accused of pressing his body against Woman A and touching parts of her body at a club in Itaewon, Yongsan District, Seoul, on August 3 last year, despite her indicating that she did not consent.
Kang’s legal team denied the charges, arguing that "there was no physical contact against the alleged victim’s will."
The court decided to call Woman A and witnesses who were at the scene to testify at the next hearing. It also admitted as evidence statements submitted by Kang’s side from witnesses who were present at the scene.
Earlier, Kang also stated on social media, "The physical contact at issue took place with mutual consent and in a natural atmosphere," adding, "I clearly state that there was no force, assault, or threat, and that I never attempted any improper contact against the other person’s will."
Regarding the specific circumstances at the time, he said, "I greeted the complainant and her group at the party, and we toasted and danced in a natural atmosphere," adding, "During that process, we danced and enjoyed ourselves with our bodies close together. We also exchanged phone numbers."
Kang added that he did not contact or interact with Woman A after they parted ways at the club, but that in December last year, people representing her claimed that she had been subjected to indecent assault by force and demanded an apology.
The court initially issued Kang a summary order imposing a fine of 5 million won, but he challenged the decision and requested a formal trial.
The next hearing is scheduled for the afternoon of November 16.
