HUG Named Exemplary Institution for Gender-Equal Employment, the Only Relocated Public Institution in Busan to Receive the Honor

HUG announced on the 2nd that it received a Busan mayoral commendation as an exemplary institution for gender-equal employment at the Busan Gender Equality Week Commemoration Ceremony held on the 1st.
Every year, the Busan Metropolitan City Government selects companies and institutions as exemplary institutions if they ensure equal employment opportunities and treatment for men and women and work to protect maternity and paternity rights and support work-family balance.
HUG explained that the award recognized its achievements in expanding the hiring of women, operating maternity protection programs and an on-site daycare center, and supporting work-family balance.
Based on blind recruitment, the number of newly hired women rose from 21 in 2024 to 38 last year. Their share of total new hires also increased from 37.5% to 45.8%.
HUG also provides training to promote diversity and inclusion within the organization. It has continued to strengthen Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) training and women’s leadership programs.
The organization has introduced measures to reduce employees’ childcare burden, including customized attendance policies and support for maternity leave, while expanding and operating its on-site daycare center.
HUG President Choi In-ho said, "This award is the result of an organizational culture that all our members have built together." He added, "We will continue working to become a public institution that leads a culture in which work and family life can coexist, so that everyone can demonstrate their abilities regardless of gender and increase their engagement at work."
