DPK: "We Will Complete the Legal Foundation for Relocating the Administrative Capital to Sejong"

[Financial News] The Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) announced on the 2nd that it aims to pass a special act on the administrative capital by the end of this year to relocate the administrative capital to Sejong.
At the DPK’s Supreme Council meeting in Sejong that day, DPK leader Kim Min-seok said, "Completing Sejong as the administrative capital is Task No. 50 among the national agenda items of Lee Jae Myung’s government of national sovereignty, and it is the top priority among the tasks for a sweeping transformation of the country’s territory." He added, "The National Assembly will complete the legal foundation for Sejong as the administrative capital."
Kim emphasized that "the construction budget for the Sejong presidential office has increased more than eightfold this year alone, while 119.1 billion won has also been allocated for the Sejong National Assembly building." He stressed that the National Assembly would maintain its attention on relocating the administrative capital to Sejong not only through the special act but also during the budget review process.
Han Byung-do, the DPK floor leader, said, "This Monday, our Sejong citizens filled the steps in front of the National Assembly and, despite the rain, called for the special act on the administrative capital to be enacted by the end of the year." He added, "The DPK will faithfully honor their earnest wishes. We will do our utmost to ensure that this regular session of the National Assembly serves as an opportunity to establish the institutional foundation for completing the administrative capital."  
Cho Sang-ho, mayor of Sejong Special Self-Governing City and a DPK member, said, "Leader Kim emphasized locally led politics to support locally led growth." He added, "He expressed his determination to change the Seoul metropolitan area-centered growth structure and establish regions as new growth engines, making South Korea an irreplaceable nation. The starting point is the completion of Sejong as the administrative capital." 
He also called for the special act on the administrative capital to be enacted by the end of the year, as well as △including an administrative capital provision in the agenda for constitutional revision △strengthening substantive functions such as culture, international exchanges, and university research △and supporting the establishment of a financial foundation commensurate with the administrative capital.
